Sherman Granted Echocardiography Laboratory Accreditation
The Echocardiography Laboratory at Sherman Hospital was recently granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). This prestigious accreditation is awarded in recognition of a commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease and is based on the quality and critical elements of the lab. It is the second time Sherman Health has earned the accreditation.
“We are honored to receive this accreditation, which exemplifies our dedication to providing outstanding healthcare and service−every life, every moment, every day,” says Nick Loise, Cardiovascular Services Director, Sherman Health.
The accreditation process began four months ago with a comprehensive self-evaluation, including all aspects of laboratory operation and the submission of actual case studies for review, by lab staff. Sherman’s application underwent a peer-review by the ICAEL’s trained reviewers, including both physicians and sonographers, before the final decision was made by the Board of Directors.
