Sherman Walking Path recognized by American Heart Association
We are pleased to announce that the 3/4 mile walking path on our new hospital campus has been named an American Heart Association (AHA) “Start! Walking Path.” The only AHA walking path in the Northwest Suburbs, Sherman’s path will feature mile markers to encourage employees and community members to begin walking programs and track progress.
The AHA has been working with local businesses and individuals to identify Start! Walking Paths in communities across the country. These paths are great to use when it’s time for a walk. People who use these designated paths can track walking progress on the AHA website. Sherman Hospital will soon be added to the online roster.
Accessible from the visitor parking lot on the hospital campus, the path offers relaxing views of a forest preserve and Sherman’s 15-acre Geothermal Lake. As summer turns to autumn, it’s a great spot for watching the leaves change and enjoying the crisp fall air.

I think this is a wonderful program. I have always enjoyed walking myself and see this as an opportunity to get in some much needed exercise and be able to track how far one has walked.
