Saturday’s “Meet Your Neighbor” Fair Recap

By Lauren | July 27, 2010

ChopperSherman’s “Meet Your Neighbor” fair on Saturday, July 24 left those who attended very impressed with the new Sherman Health Immediate Care Center. Local neighbors at the fair were able to get a tour of the new facility, allowing them to learn more about the new care center and the services it will provide.

From The Courier News:

“An immediate-care center treats patients suffering from minor injuries or illnesses but nothing life-threatening. A simple laceration or broken bone would be treated by a doctor and nurses on staff. Anyone experiencing severe chest pains or major bleeding would need to go to an emergency room.” -Director Claudia Larsen

The new immediate care center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also offers occupational health services, medical imaging (including X-rays, mammograms and MRIs), and flu shot clinics. Guests at the fair were able to take a tour of the center’s 10 new exam rooms as well.

Their turnaround time at the center is less than an hour, which is nothing compared to an average wait of three hours in emergency rooms at most hospitals. Those who who live in the neighborhood were glad to realize that Sherman Health Immediate Care is still nearby!

Look for a photo recap of the event to be up on the blog later this week!
