Get involved in the Prayer/Comfort Shawl Program at Sherman!
What is a Prayer/Comfort Shawl?
A Prayer shawl, also referred to as a Comfort shawl, is created to bring solace and strength to those in need, whether due to illness, loss, or bereavement or to help celebrate one of life’s rites of passage.
Made by loving hands, they are symbols of all-embracing love and comfort. Thoughts, prayers and positive energy directed toward the recipient are incorporated into these mantles as they are created. Anyone facing one of life’s transitions, whether it be a sad or joyous time, can benefit from being wrapped in love.
We need your help!
If you are an employee, volunteer, or friend in the community who is interested in crocheting shawls, donating yarn, or giving funds for yarn, please contact Joan Kanute for the suggested types of yarn and other information at 224-783-8154.
