The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released an infographic comparing food portion sizes from the 1950s with today. The graph is a telling reason why half of all Americans are projected to be obese by the year 2030.
French fry portions have nearly tripled, hamburger sizes have more than tripled, and soft drinks have sextupled.
Fast food is a key reason why we’re losing the battle with obesity. If you need food in a pinch, health.com’s list of healthiest fast food revealed this top five:
- Jason’s Deli
- Au Bon Pain
- Noodles & Company
- Corner Bakery
Even if you choose to order out from one of those five restaurants, remember you still need to mind your portion sizes. Look for a post later this week from a Sherman dietitian on how large our food portions should actually be.
