Sherman Offers FREE Skin Cancer Screenings

With the warmer weather, spring break, and vacations, we can finally enjoy the sun. We’re also reminded about the importance of sunscreen and the risk of skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. As an educational opportunity, Sherman Health is providing free skin cancer screenings in April.

To educate the community, Sherman Health will provide free skin cancer screenings on Thursday, April 9, 3-5 p.m. and Thursday, April 30, 6-8:30 p.m., at the Centre of Elgin.

Sima Jain, MD, Dermatologist on the Medical Staff at Sherman Hospital, will provide a brief explanation of the signs, symptoms and types skin cancers, along with the importance of regular screenings. Immediately following this discussion, Dr. Jain will answer questions and provide the free screenings.
