Sherman Men's Group Hosts 2nd Annual Walk-A-Thon, May 19

Elgin, Ill.-To raise awareness of heart disease in the community, the Sherman Men's Health Alliance (SMHA) will host its 2nd annual Healthy Heart Walk-A-Thon from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19. The walk will take place on the Sherman Hospital Lake Walking Path, surrounding the geothermal lake at 1425 N. Randall Road. Proceeds from the event will support SMHA's pledge for the Heart & Vascular Center at Sherman Hospital.

This fun-filled event for the entire family will include the walk around the 3/4 mile path, nutritious snacks, fun giveaways and more. The schedule for the event includes:

8 a.m.: Registration
8:30 a.m.: Opening remarks
9:00 a.m.: Stretching with Sherman Health staff
9:15 a.m.: Sherman's four-legged volunteers from its Animal Assisted Therapy program will lead the first lap around the lake.
