Sherman Hospital to Host 2nd Annual Polo Match

Elgin, Ill. - One of the fastest team sports in the world is coming to Elgin, again! On Sunday, August 15, the Sherman Health Foundation is hosting its second annual Polo Match, "The Sherman Cup," at Dahlwood Farm, 9 N 655 Kendall Road in Elgin. Sponsored by Oakwood Farms, proceeds from the event will benefit Sherman Hospital.

This family friendly, fun-filled event will begin with a picnic at 2 p.m., followed by the polo match at 3:30 p.m. During the match, two teams of four players on horseback will use long-handled mallets to try and drive a small ball through the opponent's goal.

General admission tickets can be purchased for $30 per carload. Tailgate tents, for groups of 10, are $300 each. Premium tent tickets, including food and optimum field placement, are offered at $75 a person or $700 for a table of 10. Tailgate and premium tent tickets must be purchased prior to event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

General admission guests are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets as bleacher seating is limited. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. A children's activity tent and contest for the best tailgate tent will also add to the excitement.

The rain date for the event is Sunday, August 29.
